There are many places to meet new people. The key is to find places you feel comfortable visiting. Here is a list of places you may or may not have thought of.
• Through family and friends. This is one of the easiest places to meet people. Accept invitations to parties, and other outings. You never know who may be there.
• Shopping centres. Go to places where the sex of the person you are seeking would be. eg. If you are searching for female friends/lovers go to jewellery shops, clothing stores, shoe shops etc. If you are searching for males, visit adult shops, stripclubs :) just kidding!!...If you are searching for males, visit hardware stores, car parts, sports stores etc.
• At the gym.
• Sporting games. The footy, or cricket etc.
• Volunteer at charities and charity events. You will be helping the needy, and yourself at the same time.
• Join clubs. Dancing, sports, darts, pool, golf, wherever your interests lie.
• Your neighbourhood. Put on a pair of walking shoes, and go for a stroll. Try and time it for when other people will be out and about. Start by just a smile and a hello. Do this on several occasions, to the same people if possible. Next time make simple chat about the weather, then work on it from there.
• At work. Friendships and relationships outside of work can be successful. You just have to find that balance of repect for colleagues at work, and friends/lovers out of work.
• Public places, bars, clubs, cinemas, parks.
• Check your local council for free community events. This is a great way to spend your weekend, and talk to a large section of people.
• Internet. Online dating, chat sites, discussion groups, forums, personals, and much more.
• Personals in your local paper. There are plenty of people, just like you, seeking partners and friends.
• Penpals. Search the internet for penpal sites. Some magazines also have sections for penpals. You can either chose friends from abroad, interstate or locals. The obvious advantage of local penpals, is you could pursue the relationship in person, once you feel ready.
• Local flea markets or bazaar.
• Fishing, beach, etc. Relaxing and a great opportunity.
